Sarah's Saw David

Sarah Came By and Saw David

David's sister Sarah has some time off from college.  She dropped in to borrow an sculpture we purchased from her.  She is the older sister that David said at pre-school graduation:  "I miss Sarah the most because she went off to college before me."  People loved it and I actually caught it all on tape, including Sarah's total surprise.  (We did not know what he was going to say either.)

After spending some quality chatting time inside, it was time to move to the great outdoors.  What does David do in a natural, beautiful outdoor environment?  He is determined to show his sister how his computer games work.  What else would you expect in such a beautiful setting like this.

At bath time I asked David what was the best part of the day (which included a laundry list of kid activities) and his response was:  seeing Sarah.  What a kid!

It was nice to catch up and see them continue to grow - separately, far apart from each other, but together.

4th of July 2013

Another 4th of July in California

Dad is enjoying the afternoon with the family - getting ready for the fireworks.  I know - you never thought I would take time to kick back, but the heat over here this week is overwhelming - so it is really the only sane thing to do.

We just had a few close friends over.  Just kidding - these are our neighbors for the neighborhood fireworks on the 3rd of July.

Summer and David are all ready as well.  David used to be afraid of the fireworks when he was younger.  Now he sees them as just part of hanging out with mom and dad.  Hope that lasts a long time.  We know we will not be as much fun as his friends in the not too distant future - so we are enjoying it while it lasts.

Check out the view behind us.  What a great venue - in the daytime.

Of course, we have found it is best to view the fireworks at night regardless of the scenery during the day (unless you are in San Francisco where all you see are blotchy colors because of the fog that rolls in).

Hope your 4th is as fun as ours.
