Bubbie's Visit in July 2011

Bubbie's Visit July 2011. Bubbie came to see the new house (and all the inhabitants in it).  David had a great time seeing her.

Why wouldn't he have a great time.

They played letter games, operation, and Monopoly (while Dad worked on his new book - deadlines what can you do).

She attended his art show.  The kids at Google had their art work semi-professionally displayed - with beautiful mats and frames, food, and wine.  It was a nice feast and celebration of their budding talents.

We also went out with relatives as long as we were together - hi Mark and Vicki.  This restaurant was great.  The moment we sat down they volunteered David to help them make some pizza.  Way to go restaurant.  Good for him, good for us, good for them - a win all the way around.

We also had time for some techology. We just got my mom a new iPhone (4).  She loved it. Summer showed her how to set it up.  Bubbie and I texted non-stop once she got it set up.  She really took to this little device (did I mention it does videoconferencing on the phone as well).

Finally, just before picking up the little man from Daycare my mom and I took a nice walk at Shoreline Park.  She loves the water.  The breeze was strong but really pleasant. The sun was shining and everyone had a good time.

See you for now Bubbie.

Happy 4th of July 2011 - David Loves the Fireworks & the Ball Game this Year

Fireworks & Baseball on the 4th of July

Fireworks at Silver Creek Valley

David loved the fireworks this year.  Last year he hid in the car with Summer. The noise was too loud. This year we saw them almost in our back yard and he loved every minute of the show. We did too. Another mini-milestone.

But that was not enough.  We also went to the ball game -  not just any ballgame but a sold out ball park.  It was the San Francisco Giants against the San Diego Padres on the 4th of July.

And don't you know it, the minute the little man had to go to the facilities they hit a home run right into the stands - right where Summer, David, and I were sitting.  I missed it.  But the man had to pee, so one must remember one's priorities.

But I could have caught that ball.  Summer ducked.  As I said the man had to do his thing.  We still had fun finding our way back.  He loved the entire day and why not - one ball went right into the Bay over our heads.  Ok enough with the balls that went out of the park.  We really did have a great time as a family.

PS. It was his decision to wear the tie - really.  He got a lot of compliments for it too.  So he was on to something and I guess we should have listened.

Happy 4th of July 2011!

(and back to the ballgame)
