David Makes a Visit to Sister Sarah's Art Gallery Show

David's Visit to Sister Sarah's Art Gallery Show.
David is in violin camp in Berkeley this week, but he took some time out to see his sister Sarah and enjoy her art work at Rooz Cafe in Oakland.  David always enjoys seeing his sister.  He gave her a big hug and a big smile like usual.  (That's us standing in front of her work hanging on the wall.)

This is how the cafe gallery looks when you first walk in.

Here is where you sign in to let her know what you think about her work.

Her art is for sale and we purchased one of her larger pieces.  It will go nicely in our living room.

There were plenty of other pieces on display for sale to the public.
The circus one below was already sold.

This one below, according to Sarah, is just "not for sale."

We are very proud of her.

Most of the time was spent just catching up and checking on her plans for the weekend - a very busy young person to be sure.  As you can see, David was busy leading the conversation.
What a surprise right?

Carlos is Sarah's friend and he was instrumental in helping to pull the display together.

Here is a nice shot of Carlos, Sarah, and David hugging with her art work in the background.

David says if you want to know more about my sister's beautiful work's of art check out her professional site at behance.

Pretty artistic family - David on violin and piano and Sarah immersed in art.  Not too bad.

Sarah Home from College

Sarah is home from college.  David is very happy.
She is painting our fence with her friend Carlos.

David loved seeing Sarah but he was not really into the painting part.

After all that work it was time for dinner - nothing like a nice Italian meal for a family get together.

Good to see you Sarah!

Golf - David at Golf Camp - His First Putt

David's First Putt.  Yes - hard to believe this little man of modest means is attending his first golf camp.

This is his first putt.
Of course, this does not stop him from instructing us on proper form and letting us know where the ball is going to fly.

Never mind the ball - look who is in the air.  Now is that good form or free form?

This is not retouched - his feet are actually off the ground and in the air.  The bottom line is the little man has quite a swing - when he concentrates and takes his time.

Take a look for yourself as he knocks it out of the park (so to speak).
Fore! (Or simply watch out.)

Happy 4th of July 2012.

Fireworks at the club were great again this year.
We had a crew there this year.

Ryan, Michelle, Summer, little David, Laura, and Alex
(and the entire community behind them)

Yes, I was there too taking the pictures and recording another family moment together.

Here is a brief video of the fireworks (just in case you could not make it).

The post fireworks party was also a lot of fun.

The kitchen is a great (and classic) place for family and friends to just sit and talk (and eat).

Thanks Laura, Michelle, Ryan, and Alex for a great time together.
The weight of the world was upon us as we discussed the craziness around us (while protected by the inner sanctum of our kitchen and our life).

David like usual is negotiating just how long he can stay up with us.  He loves hanging out with adults.

But he loves his ice cream even more.  He deserves it - his way of celebrating along with the fireworks of course.

Good night everyone and Happy 4th!

Uncle Alex and Aunt Laura Teach David How to Cook

Uncle Alex is teaching David how to cook dinner.

Dinner was a treat tonight.  Not only was it tasty, but David actually learned how to chop his vegetables from an expert.
Preparing the chops.

Cutting the greens and the mushrooms,

and the rich reds tomatoes.

Lets not forget the bread.

We all pitched in - silverware time.

Sage and rosemary.

Not too many chefs in the kitchen tonight - everyone made it happen.

Just reflecting on the hustle and bustle and the great smells of the kitchen tonight,

You be the judge.  Does this smell good or what?

Not to mention a beautiful, simple, and elegant salad.

Bon Appetit!  Thanks Uncle Alex and Aunt Laura.

What a great meal together!
