Take a Hike: A Marker of an Age of Innocence

Taking a Family Hike:  Innocence and Experience

When we say "take a hike" we mean together and we mean it literally.  When your  little one is 6 is knows a lot of colloquial expressions, but not all of them.  The fact that he still interprets the expression "take a hike" literally is a milestone of that he still resides in an age of innocence.  Blake captured it in the transition from innocence to experience much later in life.

It will not last long - probably not even until 7 but you notice the little things with little ones.  So join us on the journey while it lasts.

This is us beginning the hike.  The road was long and hot and beautiful.

The view and the blue skies were classic California.

You can see San Jose in the background.

Time for a little spritz of water to keep cool.

Look carefully and you can see who is staying cool in the shade.

Ok time to get back.

Its a long way back down the trail but a magnificent view all the way down.

We are where we began - now it is the end of the trail.

And the dogs are tired, hot, and thirsty.  They are happy to end the journey also in an age of innocence and family fun.
