David Took the Roof Off of His Room! (we moved)

The Move. Hey.  David.  Why did you take the roof off the house again?!  No Daddy, it is just a painting.  No way - put the roof back before it rains.  Daddy... (and so our nightly conversations goes - yes - over and over and over again).  He doesn't tire of it so why should I right?

In any case, David really likes his new room and his new house. No big turmoil about leaving the other one - which of course is more of a parent concern I suppose.

He also has a great view out his window in the morning - turkeys - no kidding, and they are big!

Hey - this little man had to work for this room and that view, including painting it with us.

It also means practicing on his violin at night.  He is actually getting better every day.  Who would guess 4 year old kids could learn to play.  Suzuki method of course.

This is David playing for his porridge.  Well actually, he is performing for his friends at Google pre-school.

He has adapted very well actually and been very low key about not just the move but all the remodeling and reconstruction.  We thought this was a turn-key ready to move in house for the most part but that was not exactly the case.  Everything was old, never touched, and in need of serious attention. So off to work we went.

From an almost paisley granite tile (now we are updating and into the remodeling zone),

to demolition,

to clean marble surfaces.

and its not just that room.  There are the showers.

and just getting the place pulled together.

But it is all worth it, just check out the view from our bedroom.

and there are those cute moments of appreciation.

It is called the "I love you this much movie."

We also stop for a treat every once in a while in the middle of this chaos (which he seems to enjoy or be oblivious too).

and at the end of the day - it is the same routine:  take a bath, eat your yogurt and fruit, read a story, brush your teeth, and it is BEDTIME!

Our night time laugh fest.  Hey, I said BEDTIME!

Night (mister giggles).
