Japanese Beetle Report

Hard to believe but in 1st grade these days they not only have 2 hours of homework at night for the first couple of months, but they also have a serious report and presentation expected of these little ones.

David chose the Japanese Beetle.  It took forever for him to conduct the research, record what he learned on index cards, organize the data, and then write about it in a coherent manner.  Never mind the illustrations - like the anatomy section.

But he did it and it was a good assignment.  He was quite proud of himself after completing the  weeklong assignment.

So after this long ordeal for mom, dad, and big boy David, I made him a tiny video of his accomplishment.  I sent it to his teacher so she could appreciate how much work went into this exploration into insects.  He presented his report in class and his teacher surprised him and the entire class with my little video.  He loved it (don't worry I asked and he tells you what he thinks for better or worse).

But hey don't take my word (or his) take a look for yourself.

Good job small man.
